Ghana international Tariq Lamptey says he is determined to return to his best after completing a permanent move to Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
The 25-year-old joined the London club on a free transfer after leaving Serie A outfit Fiorentina, where his progress was disrupted by an ACL injury sustained last year.
Despite the setback, Lamptey remains confident he can recapture the form that established him as one of the Premier League's most exciting full-backs during his time at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Speaking after signing for QPR, the defender insisted his ambitions remain as high as ever.
"I know what I'm capable of and I set myself high standards," Lamptey said.
Reflecting on his career so far, he added:
"I had a great start to my career, and I'll keep continuing that."
Lamptey's move to Loftus Road offers him a fresh opportunity to rebuild his career under head coach Julien Stéphan, with the club aiming to challenge near the top of the Championship this season.
The Ghana international has already provided a positive update on his recovery, revealing that he is closing in on a return to action after months of rehabilitation. He is expected to be available for selection in September.
Having made more than 120 Premier League appearances and represented Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Lamptey will be hoping to rediscover his best form and play a key role in QPR's push for promotion during the 2026/27 campaign.
