Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has given Queens Park Rangers supporters an insight into the style of football they can expect after completing his move to the Championship side.
The 25-year-old right-back joined QPR on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Serie A club Fiorentina, becoming one of the club's key additions ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Speaking after signing his contract, Lamptey described himself as an energetic, attack-minded full-back who enjoys contributing at both ends of the pitch.
"I'm hardworking, I like to get up and down, a lot of energy, a lot of fun, hopefully I'll keep the fans on the edge of their seats," he said.
The Ghana defender also highlighted his love for individual battles and his aggressive approach to defending.
"I'm tough tackling, I love one-v-ones, defensive and attacking, I just love playing the game."
Lamptey arrives at Loftus Road with significant experience despite still being only 25. After progressing through Chelsea's academy, he enjoyed a successful spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, making more than 120 appearances in the Premier League before moving to Fiorentina last year.
Although his time in Italy was interrupted by an ACL injury, the defender is nearing full fitness and is expected to return to action in September.
QPR will be hoping Lamptey's pace, defensive quality and attacking instincts can strengthen the squad as they target a strong Championship campaign under head coach Julien Stephan.
