Jonas Adjetey reveals excitement after World Cup Selection

Ghana defender Jonas Adjetey has expressed his immense joy at being named in the Black Stars' 26-man squad for the World Cup, describing it as a lifelong dream fulfilled.

The centre-back opened up about the fierce competition within the squad and how it drove everyone to give their best.

"I was really happy to be part of the 26-man squad because every player wants to be part of the World Cup squad, so for me it was a dream come true. I wanted to experience the World Cup. How it feels. So I was really happy to be part of the squad," Adjetey said.

The defender revealed that even during the warm-up game against Wales, the players were unsure who the coach's preferred back four would be for the tournament.

"None of us knew this was the coach's preferred back four [for the World Cup during the Wales game]."

Adjetey credited the squad's depth as a motivating factor that pushed everyone to perform at their best.

"Everyone was so good to fit in the coach's plan because we have incredibly good players, so what we had in our minds was that anytime we got the chance, we tried to utilise the chance very well because people are equally good as you are. So that was the main reason that kept us thriving and pushing just to make sure we defend to the max."
