Jennifer Cudjoe: Black Queens are going for victory, not a draw against Mali

Black Queens deputy captain Jennifer Cudjoe says Ghana will approach Thursday's decisive Women's Africa Cup of Nations clash against Mali with only one objective: securing victory and a place in the quarter-finals.

Although a draw could be enough to send Ghana through depending on results elsewhere, Cudjoe insists the Black Queens have no intention of playing cautiously.

"We know that we need to win. That's what we're going for, so I don't think there's too much pressure. But we know that it's not going to be an easy game as well," she said.

Ghana face Mali in their final Group C fixture knowing three points will guarantee qualification for the knockout stage after picking up one point from their opening two matches.

Cudjoe expressed confidence in the squad's readiness ahead of the must-win encounter.

"I'm excited, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm ready, and everybody is ready. I just hope that we show up and do what we have to do."

The midfielder acknowledged Mali's quality but believes the Black Queens are prepared to rise to the occasion and keep their WAFCON campaign alive.
