Roda JC technical manager Rob Servais has expressed his satisfaction with the loan signing of Ghanaian-eligible midfielder Jeremiah Mensah from Bayer Leverkusen, praising the 18-year-old's creative qualities and potential.
Mensah joined the Dutch Eerste Divisie side on a season-long loan, with the club announcing the move on Thursday. The attacking midfielder, who has been with Leverkusen since the age of seven, signed his first professional contract with the Bundesliga club in April, keeping him at the BayArena until mid-2031.
"Jeremiah is a creative left-footed player who is best suited playing behind the striker," Servais told the club's official website.
"We are happy that Bayer 04 Leverkusen is entrusting him to us for a year."
The German-born Ghanaian has represented Germany at various youth levels, appearing at the Under-17 European Championship and the U-17 World Cup. He is eligible to represent Ghana through his parents, making him a potential target for the Black Stars in the future.
The teenager will now link up with his new teammates and begin preparations for the upcoming season. The loan move represents a significant opportunity for Mensah to gain regular first-team football and continue his development away from the intense competition at Leverkusen.
