Ghana has moved into the final stage of selecting its National Under-15 boys’ team for the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan, scheduled for October 2026.
The decisive screening camp will run from August 16 to 22 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Fifty-one promising players remain in contention after emerging from an original group of 108 youngsters who began the identification programme on July 17. The selected prospects will be assessed in two separate groups, allowing the technical staff to give each player closer attention.
The first group, consisting of 26 players, will report on August 16 and stay until August 19. The remaining 25 players will arrive on August 19 and complete their assessment on August 22. Head coach Salifu Fatawu and his technical team will oversee both sessions.
The coaches will examine more than technical ability. Tactical awareness, physical qualities, discipline and long-term potential will all influence the final decisions. The process is designed to identify the players best prepared to represent Ghana on an important international stage.
The Azerbaijan tournament will give the country’s emerging talents an opportunity to test themselves against peers from around the world, making this final camp a significant step in their development.
