The Tema Regional Police Command has foiled an attempted robbery at Community 24 within the Adjei-Kojo District in the Ashaiman Division of the Tema Region, resulting in the death of three suspected robbers.
In a statement was signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs, Tema Regional Police Headquarters, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at about 1:30 a.m., when the Ashaiman Divisional Police Intelligence Team received information about an ongoing robbery at a private residence in the area.
Acting on the intelligence, a police team moved to the scene to intervene. Upon arrival, officers encountered six young men, all wearing face masks and hoodies, and armed with machetes, guns and other offensive weapons.
The police said the suspects opened fire on the officers, who returned fire. During the exchange of gunfire, three of the suspects were fatally wounded and later succumbed to their injuries. The remaining three suspects, believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, managed to escape.

Exhibits retrieved from the scene include three face masks, three machetes and one unregistered Royal 125 motorbike.
The bodies of the deceased suspects have been conveyed to the Police Hospital for preservation, identification and autopsy.
The police said hospitals and health facilities within the locality have been alerted to inform the police through the emergency lines should any male persons report with gunshot wounds.

The Command commended the operational team for the successful operation and encouraged members of the public to continue supporting the police with timely information to help maintain peace and security.
