Ghana’s Black Stars face a must-win game against Sudan as they return to action for matchday three of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The match will be played on Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium with kickoff at 4 pm local time.
Ghana endured a poor outing in their last two matches in September, succumbing to two unwanted results, one draw and one loss.
Angola and Niger frustrated the four-time African champions by securing 1-0 and 1-1 results respectively.
Although the Accra Sports Stadium offers Ghana a significant historical advantage, with five consecutive unbeaten AFCON qualifiers, Sudan’s resurgence under coach Kwesi Appiah and Ghana’s abysmal performance in their last two games makes the upcoming match unpredictable.
The upcoming encounter represents a critical juncture for coach Otto Addo, who strives to reassert his position with the team.
However the significance of the match transcends personal implications, as Ghana pursues a vital win to bolster their prospects of achieving 11 consecutive AFCON appearances.
