Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has confirmed that winger Fatawu Issahaku is sidelined with a groin injury, ruling him out of the club’s upcoming Premier League match against Ipswich Town.
Issahaku was also absent from the Carabao Cup Fourth Round clash against Manchester United, where Leicester suffered a 5-2 defeat at Old Trafford.
Speaking at a Thursday press conference, Cooper provided an update on Issahaku’s condition and addressed the team’s response to their cup exit.
“Abdul was not available for the game last night due to a groin issue,” he said. “We had a few enforced changes, but just because we went one way last night doesn’t mean we won’t make adjustments for the weekend.”
Issahaku has made nine Premier League appearances this season, contributing two assists. The winger joined Leicester permanently over the summer after impressing last season and playing a vital role in their promotion. Currently, the Foxes sit in 15th place in the league with nine points from nine matches.
