A level 100 student at Apenteng Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has been remanded in prison custody by the Asante Akropong circuit court for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.
Raynus Ofori Mensah pleaded not guilty to the defilement charge but told the court he had been in a relationship with the victim for four months. The court, presided over by Gloria Mensah Bonsu, adjourned the case to December 8, 2025.
Police Chief Inspector Ruth Gborson, prosecuting the case, narrated the events leading to the arrest.
Mensah, a resident of Tanoso, allegedly lured the victim, a JHS two pupil, into his room after she was sent to his house on an errand by the accused. The prosecution alleges Mensah had sexual intercourse with the minor, causing her to bleed profusely.

According to the prosecution, Mensah then took the unconscious victim to a hospital at Apatrapa after the incident. The victim’s mother, upon returning home and finding her daughter missing, contacted Mensah, who claimed to have found the victim bleeding on the AAMUSTED campus and taken her to the hospital.
The mother rushed to the hospital and found Mensah with blood on his sandals. The victim was receiving treatment. The mother reported the incident to the police, leading to Mensah’s arrest. He reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim in his caution statement.
