The Savannah Regional Coordinating Council has announced a GH¢10,000 reward for anyone or group of people, who would give information that lead to the retrieval of the missing Toyota Hilux.
The vehicle was reported to have been snatched early this month by armed men in Tamale.
The Head of Public Affairs Unit of Northern Region, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammed Tanko Yusif, in a statement sighted by the Ghanaian Times,saidthe Toyota Hilux with registration number ER 3516-19 was snatched by armed men in Tamale.
He said the police have since instituted investigations into the case, and urged the public to provide reliable information to the police for the retrieval of Toyota Hilux vehicle.
The vehicle, said to be an official car of the Savannah Minister, Mr Salifu Adam Briamah, was snatched by armed robbers at gunpoint in Tamale.
The minister was reported to have joined the vehicle at Damongo and was dropped off at Tamale airport to attend an official meeting in Accra.
It was said that while returning to Tamale township, the driver, name withheld, was attacked by about five armed men, who seized the vehicle and later tied the driver to a tree in a bush and fled with the vehicle.
It was stated that the driver was later spotted by a Good Samaritan, who rescued him and a formal report was made to the police.
