In a passionate appeal, Hajia Samira Bawumia, wife of NPP Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged residents of Ayensuano to avoid “skirt and blouse” voting in the upcoming elections.
This call to action follows the 2020 general elections, where the community’s vote for the NDC MP resulted in the NPP losing its traditional seat due to internal issues.
During her campaign stop at Asuboi-Zongo in the Eastern Region on Sunday, Hajia Samira Bawumia emphasized the importance of unity and rallying behind the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Ida Adjoa Asiedu.
She encouraged the community to put aside their differences and vote massively for Asiedu on December 7 to reclaim the parliamentary seat for the NPP.
As the Second Lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia expressed concern over the lack of development in the constituency.
She assured the residents that Dr. Bawumia has policies in place to develop the country and promised to lobby for a secondary school in Asuboi if the NPP wins.
Ida Adjoa Asiedu, the parliamentary candidate, also addressed the community, highlighting her philanthropic efforts and commitment to empowering youth and women.
She urged the residents to support the NPP government and vote for continuity to protect the ruling government’s policies, including free SHS.
The chiefs and Muslims in attendance appealed to the ruling government for developmental projects in the area, demonstrating the community’s desire for progress and growth.
As the 2024 elections approach, Samira Bawumia’s message of unity and development is crucial in rallying support for the NPP.
