Accra, July 24, GNA - The Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces has a held a two-day firing competition for Units under its Command.
The competition, which was held at the Yaohima Gallery Range, was aimed at grooming troops for subsequent firing competitions at the Formation and Service levels.
The competition saw teams drawn from HQ Central Command Camp, 3 BN, 4 BN and 2 Independent Recce Squadron competing in various practices; Pistol Shoot, M16 Carbine Shoot, M16 Standard Shoot and Falling Plates.
The 3rd Battalion of Infantry based in Sunyani was adjudged the best team overall with 4BN (Kumasi) placing 2nd and HQ C/COMD (Kumasi) coming in 3rd.
Private Mantey Michael was adjudged the overall best male with Sgt Darkwah Sarah receiving the award for overall best female.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, GOC C/COMD, Brig Gen Cosmos Alhassan, COO C/COMD, Col Y Salifu and the various Commanders of the Units under the Command were in attendance.
