The first playoff round of Europe’s most exciting football competition, the UEFA Champions League, comes off Tuesday night at the various venues across Europe.
This round will see teams from various leagues in Europe who couldn’t qualify automatically to play themselves on a home-and-away basis.
The teams which win get the opportunity to go through to the group stage.
Usually teams which take part in the playoff round are teams which had underperformed in their leagues.
Ghanaians will be interested in the match which involves Swiss side Young Boys as Kasim Nuhu of Young Boys will hope to play for his side.
The competition, which involves 32 teams across Europe, has been exciting with Real Madrid as the current champions.
The group stage of the 2017/2018 UCL begins on 12 September and runs every two or three weeks until 6 December.
After a two-month winter break, the knockout stages start on 13 February and will hope to end with a final to be played at Kyiv’s NSK Olimpiyski on May 26, 2018.
