Former Ghana Stephen Appiah had the honour of announcing the Philadelphia Eagles’ Round 7 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The announcement was made during the Eagles’ NFL Draft Day Viewing event held at the Bridgeview Hotel in Akosombo, Ghana.
Despite the rain, Appiah revealed that the Eagles had chosen Moro Ojomo, a defensive tackle from the Texas Longhorns, with the No. 249 overall pick.
Ojomo, who was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States at the age of seven, had an impressive career at Katy High School in the Houston area before becoming a contributor for the Longhorns.
The announcement was beamed from Ghana to NFL draft viewers across the world, showcasing the global appeal of the sport.

The selection of Ojomo by the Eagles marked their final pick in the draft, with the team hoping that he will make a positive impact on their defence.
Following the announcement, dancehall star Stonebwoy took to the stage to perform some songs from his new project titled 5th Dimension for the fans in attendance.
