Bibiani GoldStars’ coach, Frimpong Manso, says his side will strive to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season despite facing a stern test against Medeama SC in Tarkwa on Sunday.
After 10 games, GoldStars are the only undefeated side in the league, winning five of their games and drawing five, leaving them at the top of the league standings. However, a tricky test awaits GoldStars, who are coming up against Medeama SC who are winless in their last three games.
Away from home, GoldStars have given a good account of themselves, amassing seven points and raising optimism from the Golden Boys in their upcoming away clash against Medeama.
“We hope so [to maintain our unbeaten run]. We will try to keep our unbeaten run intact. Medeama we know are a very good side, especially at home but then that is not going to scare us anyway. What we have been doing when we go away that is exactly the same thing we will be doing. We are not going to do anything different just as we have been approaching our away games, that is how we going to do that,” Frimpong Manso said in his pre-match presser.
Not only have Bibiani GoldStars showcased remarkable attacking impetus. The Golden Boys have also conceded the least goals in the league (3), a run which coach Frimpong Manso believes just about paints the perfect picture of his team, despite being wary of Medeama’s threat.
“Playing 10 games and conceding three goals, it tells us that without the ball we are playing very well and against Medeama we need to improve on what we have been doing. There are some teams you cannot underrate them. The fact that they have not been scoring or they are not winning doesn’t mean anything. They are one of the best teams in the league so we going to give that respect, but we will do what we have to do,” he added.
GoldStars are one point clear of second-placed Nations FC and will be hoping to get a favorable result in Tarkwa on Sunday.
