Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has refuted online rumors that his Snapchat story was meant to make fun of Shatta Wale’s fashion sense after Shatta criticised his style of dressing.
In an interview with Nigeria’s City FM on December 5, 2024, Black Sherif clarified that his post on Snapchat was not a reply to Shatta Wale.
Blacko noted that he does not reply critics of his fashion style, stating that the whole feud was started by fans.
“I didn’t post anything on my Snap because of him. So, because someone went to do an interview, I shouldn’t post it on my snap? I didn’t reply anybody, and whatever they said online is just fan-fueled stuff… I don’t reply anything about my fashion stuff,” he said.
Reacting to the threats by Shatta Wale to harm his career, Blacko said he cares less about such threat.
Labelling the whole issue as “irrelevant” to him, he said “This is the second time I’ve been asked this question, and I think the kind of attention I’m supposed to give that thing to even have something to say, I don’t have it right now.”
The ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ hitmaker also made it clear that he doesn’t see Shatta Wale as a rival.
“Nothing can happen between me and Shatta Wale. It just can’t happen. Because of the kind of position, we both occupy in society, the street doesn’t need that,” he added.
Background
It is recalled that on Thursday, October 31, 2024, Shatta Wale, during a conversation on the Bant, Rants and Confessions podcast hosted by Efia Odo, expressed his dissatisfaction with Black Sherif’s style of dressing, stating that the singer could do better with his appearance.
It appeared the gesture didn’t sit well with Black Sherif, who posted a picture of Shatta Wale with the caption “I plaster everywhere” on Snapchat.
However, Shatta in response expressed displeasure over Black Sherif’s Snapchat post and cautioned the artiste.
“Black Sherif, you are new in the music industry. If you have heard them saying I have said something about you, you won’t go and watch the podcast and know the good things I said about you.
“Blacko, this is the same thing Sarkodie did; now people think he is my enemy. Go and ask; I can end careers, and if you don’t take time, I will end yours,” he said.
Many interpreted Blacko’s post as a subtle jab at the dancehall star’s appearance.
