Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum has expressed his admiration for the club’s latest signing, former Aduana Stars striker Isaac Mintah.
Mintah, 26, has joined Kotoko on a two-and-a-half-year deal after successfully completing his medical. The forward recently parted ways with Libyan side Al-Ahli and is set to strengthen the team’s attacking options.
Speaking on the acquisition, Ogum said, “Isaac is an exceptional forward who knows how to make things happen in the final third. His eye for goal and ability to link up with teammates make him a perfect fit for our style of play. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing him excel for us.”
Mintah made his mark in the Ghana Premier League last season, scoring 17 goals and registering four assists in 40 matches for Aduana Stars. His consistent performances earned him recognition and made him a target for several clubs.
His addition comes at a crucial time for Kotoko, with their top scorer Albert Amoah sidelined for two months due to injury.
Mintah’s arrival is expected to provide much-needed firepower as the team seeks to strengthen their squad and improve their league performance.
He becomes Kotoko’s third major signing of the second transfer window, following the arrivals of Kwame Opoku and Sampson Eduku, signaling the club’s determination to make a strong push in the ongoing season.
Kotoko are currently 5th on the Ghana Premier League with 28 points and will take on Vision FC in Match day 17 this weekend.
