New Asante Kotoko striker Isaac Mintah has expressed excitement about joining the club and believes the competition within the team will drive him to improve and grow as a player.
Mintah, who previously played for Ghana Premier League side Aduana FC, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Porcupines.
The 26-year-old forward, who recently parted ways with Libyan club Al-Ahli, is set to bolster Kotoko’s attacking options.
Speaking after his signing, Mintah shared, “I’m thrilled to join Kotoko; it’s a huge moment in my career. This club has a strong winning mentality, and I’m eager to be a part of that. I know there’s a lot of competition for places here, especially in attack, but that only motivates me to push myself harder and improve every day. I’m here to give my best, help the team, and contribute to the success of this great club.”
Mintah made a name for himself in the Ghana Premier League last season, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists in 40 matches for Aduana Stars.
His addition is seen as a major boost for Kotoko, especially with the team’s top scorer Albert Amoah sidelined for two months due to injury. Mintah’s presence strengthens the squad as they aim to challenge for the league title.
He becomes the club’s third major signing in the second transfer window, joining Kwame Opoku and Sampson Eduku.
Kotoko may still make a few more additions before the transfer window closes next week.
