Everton manager David Moyes has expressed the club’s interest in signing Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah from French side Olympique Lyon.
The 21-year-old talent has been linked with a potential €20 million (£16.8 million) move to Goodison Park, a transfer that could bolster Everton’s attacking options.
Speaking during a press conference ahead of Everton’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Moyes addressed the speculation: “He’s a player that I know we’ve been looking at, but I couldn’t say for sure that it’s done or even underway, unless there’s something happening that I’m unaware of. We’re considering several players, and Ernest Nuamah is one of them. Hopefully, we can make some signings before the window closes.”
Although Nuamah has had a slow start to the season at Lyon, his previous performances highlight his potential. Last season, the Ghana international registered four goals and three assists in 51 appearances for Lyon. During his tenure at FC Nordsjaelland, he demonstrated remarkable form, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 49 matches.
Everton’s pursuit of Nuamah reflects their ambition to strengthen the squad as they look to improve their fortunes in the Premier League.
