Governs Kwame Agbodza and Haruna Iddrisu, key nominees in President John Mahama’s government, will appear before Parliament’s Appointments Committee today, Monday, January 20, 2025.
This vetting session marks a pivotal moment in assessing their suitability for critical ministerial roles.
Mr Agbodza, nominated as Minister for Roads and Highways, and Mr Iddrisu, the Education Minister-designate, are expected to outline their qualifications, strategic vision, and actionable plans for their respective portfolios.
Their appearance follows an official announcement by Parliament on its Facebook page on Sunday, 19 January 2025.
So far, three ministerial nominees have undergone vetting, with discussions focusing on their capacity to drive the administration’s agenda.
The sessions provide the public and stakeholders with an opportunity to scrutinise nominees’ readiness to lead key ministries.
The vetting process will continue throughout the week, with notable nominees such as Ahmed Ibrahim for Local Government, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey for Gender and Social Protection, and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare for Trade and Agribusiness set to face the Committee on Tuesday.
The final rounds of vetting are scheduled to conclude by Monday, 27 January 2025, involving 18 additional nominees across key regions and sectors.
