First Bank Ghana has been re-launched and officially opened the Takoradi Branch at the central business district to serve the individual and the business community, in the Western and Western North Regions.
“As a business, we recognise that Takoradi is a hub for both lower-end and upper-end SMEs, as well as retail banking clients. It is also the head office of very significant resource-based institutions in mining, oil and gas,” said Victor Yaw Asante, the Managing Director of FirstBank.
He said the bank remains committed to empowering the Ghanaian populace with channels that enable them to bank anywhere and at any time as part of its financial inclusion drive.
According to him, the branch will act as an economic catalyst for the local communities around Takoradi and its environs. It will provide financing options for small businesses, which are often considered the backbone of local economies.
“The branch will also support our efforts to offer world-class banking services that deliver our gold standard of value and excellence, placing our customers at the heart of what we do” he said.
“Over the last few years, we have witnessed a surge in businesses established to meet the growing needs of our rapidly expanding population. Many of these businesses are small and medium enterprises (SMEs); and we are committed to assisting them alongside all other customer segments, including the oil and gas sector,” he noted.
Mr. Asante explained that facilities and services are designed to better meet the diverse needs of our clients, including those receiving foreign remittances.
“Aside from our channels and other products, our collections platform presents you – our valued clients and customers – with options to make payments for government services, school fees and others. The Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) offering is available to provide solutions to current and potential customers so that sending and receiving money to and from various parts of the African continent is well facilitated,” he said.
Mr. Asante said the bank aims to create a banking environment that fosters growth, convenience and accessibility for all customers and prospects in Takoradi in particular and the three regions in general.
He pointed out that with the relaunch of the Takoradi Branch, every individual, institution or corporate entity stands to benefit from exciting products, services and customer experience.
“We commit to continually support the financial aspirations of individuals and businesses alike with tailor-made products and services, advisory services and our channels. Also, we pledge to maintain the highest standards of customer service, ensuring your banking experience is always seamless and satisfactory,” he said.
He continued: “We look forward to continuing our partnership with you, driving mutual growth and success. We are aware of the vibrant nature of Takoradi. We are particularly delighted to observe that Christmas festivities have received a new lease of life with the masquerade activities; and this year, we are coming on board”!
David Komlagah, the Manager, Takoradi Market Circle branch of FirstBank implored individuals and businesses to bank with the financial institution.
He assured management that the branch will do extremely well to enhance the image of the bank.
Customers from West View Medical Centre, Axim Road Cooperative Credit Union and some individuals praised the bank for their good customer services.
