Former assemblyman appeals for potable water for community
Goaso (B/A), Oct. 23, GNA – Mr Ben Adom Agyei, former assemblyman for Manhyia Electoral Area in the Asunafo North Municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region, has appealed to the Government to provide the community with potable water to prevent the outbreak of an epidemic in the area.
Mr Agyei making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Goaso on Monday explained that communities like Tetekrom, Agyeikrom, Nfante and Asuopiri solely depended on River Asuopiri, but had been polluted through the activities of some residents.
He said as a result, the people were compelled to depend on dug-out wells and therefore appealed to the Government for assistance.
Mr Agyei, who is also the Local Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), called on the Government to improve the road network in the area to facilitate the movement of people and farm produce.
He said roads linking the four communities were in deplorable condition due the recent rains, therefore, the need for government’s intervention to save lives and property.
On the mass cocoa spraying exercise, Mr Agyei commended the Government for the immense contribution towards the programme and warned those diverting logistics for the exercise to refrain from such illegal acts.
