Hohoe, Nov. 28, GNA – Permafrost covering almost a quarter of the northern hemisphere, contains 1,700 gigatonnes of carbon, twice that currently in the atmosphere, and could significantly amplify global warming should thawing accelerate as expected, according to a UN Environment Programme  report, made available to the GNA on Tuesday.

Accra , Nov 28, GNA - Mr. Andrew Quayson, Chairman of Unilever Foundation,  on Wednesday handed over a cheque for 98,000 Euros to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to improve hygiene and sanitation in the Central, Volta, Upper East, Upper West and the Northern regions of Ghana.
