Bibiani GoldStars head coach Frimpong Manso has stressed that his side must be ruthless in front of goal when they face Algerian giants JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Ghanaian champions host the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, with the return fixture set for Algeria.
Manso, who masterminded GoldStars’ historic maiden Ghana Premier League triumph last season, believes composure and efficiency will be key if his team is to secure an early advantage.
“We’ve worked so hard, so we need to make sure we also try to take our chances. Sometimes you may play, but if you squander the chances, it will go back to haunt,” he told Joy Sports.
GoldStars opened their title defence with a win over Bechem United and see the clash with JS Kabylie as an opportunity to prove their credentials on the continental stage.
The Algerians, among the most experienced clubs in African football, represent a significant step up in opposition.
