The head coach of Bechem United, Kobina Amissah, has rallied his players to move on from their humiliating defeat to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League in their last match.
The Hunters were in Kumasi last weekend and suffered a 6-0 defeat to the Porcupine Warriors in their Week 16 fixture.
Speaking ahead of Bechem United’s Week 17 fixture against Berekum Chelsea this weekend, Kobina Amissah lamented the scoreline in the Kotoko game but praised his players' performance in the game.
“It’s unfortunate we conceded six goals. I think the performance was encouraging. We saw some good passes and movement: in the first 15 minutes, we got some chances, and we should have scored. But that’s football, if you don’t take your chance and the opponent takes their chance, you will be in trouble. The score line was bad, but the performance was not bad,” Kobina Amissah told Bechem United TV.
In the pre-match interview, the coach revealed that the technical team is working on the psyche of the players to bring back their winning mentality after the huge loss.
He is confident the team can beat Berekum Chelsea in their next match.
“The boys are trying to get back to their winning mentality. So on Sunday, it will be a different game against Berekum Chelsea. We want to make the supporters happy by winning that particular match,” Kobina Amissah said.
The Week 17 fixture between Berekum Chelsea and Bechem United will be played on Sunday, January 4.
