Hearts of Oak manager and former Black Stars assistant coach Didi Dramani has clearly defined Ghana's primary objective for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stating the team's target is to successfully navigate the group stage.
Speaking in an interview following the tournament draw, Dramani expressed confidence in the squad's composition. "Our primary target for Ghana at the World Cup should be to qualify from the group stage," he said.
He pointed to the blend of experience within the setup as a key asset, adding, "The coach brings valuable experience, and some of our players have been there before too. This gives us an edge, and I believe we will succeed in the competition."
The Black Stars have been placed in a competitive Group L alongside England, Panama, and Croatia. The group presents a challenging mix of a European heavyweight, a consistent tournament performer, and a CONCACAF side.
Dramani's comments set a clear and realistic benchmark for the national team as they begin their final preparations for the tournament in North America. His emphasis on leveraging the experience within the camp, from the technical staff to the players who have competed on football's biggest stage before, underscores the focused mindset required to advance from what promises to be a tightly contested group.
