Nations FC captain Razak Simpson has shared his excitement with the team’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Medeama Sporting Club in the Ghana Premier League.
The commanding centre-back started the Week 21 fixture for his team on Friday and lasted the entire duration of the contest.
In a game where Medeama SC scored first to take the lead in the 9th minute, Razak Simpson starred for Nations FC, scoring a brace to rally his team from behind to amass all three points.
Speaking in a post-match interview, the defender stressed that he is delighted with the result, especially coming on the back of their recent struggles in the Ghana Premier League.
“I’m really happy for the win. I’m overwhelmed. This season things have not been the same like last season. So, I give thanks to God,” Razak Simpson said.
He continued, “When we conceded the goal, I told them to stay calm because I knew the game would be in our favour. We came into this game with full motivation because I knew we were going to win.”
Friday’s win over the league leaders has lifted Nations FC to eighth position in the Ghana Premier League standings.
Up next for the team, they will face off with Hohoe United during Week 22.
