Ghana Premier League icon Charles Taylor believes Hearts of Oak coach Didi Dramani has the pedigree to follow in the footsteps of legendary manager Jones Attuquayefio after Sunday’s famous derby triumph.
Dramani guided a 10-man Hearts side to a 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on February 15, 2026, ending a five-year wait for a league win in Kumasi.
Despite playing much of the contest with a numerical disadvantage, the Phobians displayed discipline and control to protect their slender lead.
Speaking to Angel TV, Taylor praised the tactical maturity shown by the team and urged patience with the coach.
“I want Didi Dramani to know that I love him and sometimes I will criticize him if the right thing is not done. But on Sunday he showed that he is a good coach, the way his team controlled the game even though they were a man down. Didi should be given the chance to work and he can be the next Attuquayefio,” he said.
Attuquayefio remains one of Hearts’ most decorated figures, having delivered four league titles, three FA Cups, a Ghana Super Cup, and continental glory in 2000 and 2001.
