Bundesliga action. The centre-back saw red in the 42nd minute, leaving his side a man down just before the break and shifting the momentum firmly towards the hosts.Darmstadt had been competitive early on, but Pfeiffers dismissal opened the door for Dresden, who struck twice in first-half stoppage time through Vincent Vermeij to take full control at 20. Jakob Lemmer pulled one back for Darmstadt on 53 minutes, briefly raising hopes of an unlikely comeback. However, Christoph Daferners late goal restored Dresdens two-goal cushion before Yosuke Furukawas stoppage-time strike for the visitors proved only a consolation.Despite this setback, Pfeiffer has been a regular for Darmstadt in the 2025/26 2. Bundesliga campaign, making 24 league appearances so far without registering a goal or assist.Darmstadt will look to regroup quickly before their next fixture, a tricky trip to Holstein Kiel on Saturday 7 March, where Pfeiffers potential suspension will test their defensive depth.
