Ghana’s kit sponsor, PUMA, has outlined the inspiration behind the Black Stars’ new kits for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The kits were unveiled on March 19, 2026, in New York City, with the company describing the designs as bold and distinctive.
According to PUMA, the home kit, which features a white base, reflects Ghana’s national identity, energy and rhythm. The jersey is designed with striking geometric patterns in gradients of red, yellow and green, representing the country’s colours in motion. The Black Star is placed prominently at the centre, symbolising pride and unity.
For the away kit, PUMA drew from Ghana’s cultural heritage, particularly traditional fabric influences. The yellow jersey features an all-over Kente-inspired pattern, combined with red trim and the Black Star, linking the design to Ghanaian tradition. The company said the kit is intended to project power and optimism.
Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan was present at the launch event in New York. He expressed his appreciation for PUMA’s long-standing partnership with Ghana, noting his personal connection with the brand and its continued support for the national team.
Ghana will use the jerseys at the 2026 World Cup in North America, where they will face Panama, Croatia and England in the group stage.
