German-Ghanaian forward Salim Musah grabbed a stoppage-time goal but could not prevent Werder Bremen from slipping to a 2-1 home defeat against RB Leipzig at the Weserstadion.
Introduced from the bench on 76 minutes, Musah struck in the 90+4th minute, turning in Jovan Milosevic’s pass to give Bremen late hope after Leipzig had controlled much of the contest.
Leipzig built their victory on clinical finishing, with Antonio Nusa opening the scoring on 15 minutes before Rômulo doubled the advantage early in the second half. Bremen pushed back, edging possession and creating more shots, but struggled to break through until Musah’s precise finish finally beat Maarten Vandevoordt deep into added time.
Musah’s impact underlined his growing importance in Daniel Thioune’s attack, adding to a promising 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign in which he has made 3 appearances and scored 1 goal. His late strike was not enough to rescue a point, though, as Leipzig held firm through a frantic finale.
Werder Bremen will look to respond next time out when they travel to face FC Köln in the Bundesliga on Sunday, April 12.
