Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has once again been targeted by racist abuse online, intensifying concerns around repeated discrimination against the player following high-profile matches in England.
The latest incident occurred after Manchester City secured a 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a match in which the 26-year-old featured for the full duration and contributed to a dominant performance.
Shortly after the game, Semenyo shared a celebratory post on Instagram, which was met with a deeply offensive comment that quickly sparked outrage across social media platforms.
The message read: "By the time you sit at the bench for about 15 game's you will know how to play football you black monkey."
Semenyo, who has previously been subjected to similar incidents, responded succinctly on his own platform with the words, “It’s started again⦔, a remark widely interpreted as a reference to the earlier abuse he endured in December 2025 while playing for Bournemouth following a defeat to Liverpool.
Semenyo, who joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in January 2026, has enjoyed an impressive start to life at the Etihad, scoring 15 league goals and playing a key role in their Carabao Cup triumph.
