Semper Fi FC boosted their promotion push with a determined 1-0 victory over Attram De Visser in the Access Bank Division One League Zone Three on Saturday at the Tuba Astro Turf.
In a tightly contested encounter, Samuel Adonteng Owusu proved the difference, scoring the only goal of the match just three minutes into the second half. The forward reacted quickest to a loose ball from a corner kick, finishing calmly to hand Semper Fi the lead.
The match took a difficult turn for the hosts shortly after, as they were reduced to ten men for most of the second half. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Semper Fi showed resilience and discipline to hold off an Attram De Visser side that came into the game in strong form.
Attram pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but Semper Fi’s defensive organisation stood firm under pressure, ensuring they protected their slender advantage until the final whistle.
The victory sees Semper Fi FC tighten their grip on second place in Zone Three, moving to 52 points after 28 matches.
