Nathaniel Adjei has expressed confidence and excitement ahead of Ghana’s upcoming international friendly against Mexico.
The 23-year-old centre-back has joined the Black Stars camp ahead of Friday’s high-profile friendly encounter at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc.
The towering centre-back, who recently earned a return to the Ghana squad following his impressive performances in France, believes the friendly encounter presents a great opportunity for the team to continue building momentum ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to Ghanasoccernet.com, Adjei said the players are fully focused and determined to put up a strong display against the North American side.
“We know it’s going to be a difficult game because Mexico are a very good side, but we are also prepared and ready for the challenge,” ths FC Lorient guardsman remarked.
“The mood in camp is very positive, and everybody is looking forward to the game. These matches help us improve as a team and also prepare for the future.”
After enjoying a solid campaign at Lorient, Adjei is hoping to cement his place in Ghana’s squad with another convincing performance if handed the opportunity against Mexico.
