The 26-year-old centre-back joined Rennes from Clermont Foot on 29 January 2024 in a deal worth €11m. He has a contract with the club until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would involve negotiations between two sides in France’s top flight rather than a free transfer.
Seidu’s current market value is listed at €6m. He has made 106 Ligue 1 appearances, registering two assists, and has also featured in the Coupe de France, Europa League and France’s second tier during his career.
The Ghana international has played once at the 2026 World Cup, appearing for 21% of the available minutes and receiving one yellow card. He has not scored or assisted in the tournament.
Seidu began his senior career with Clermont’s reserve side after moving from JMG Abidjan in 2019, before joining Clermont’s first team a year later. His switch to Rennes was the first senior transfer of his career and remains his most recent move.
The rumour concerns a possible domestic transfer to Marseille, with both clubs competing in Ligue 1. No transfer has been confirmed, and Seidu remains contracted to Stade Rennais through the end of June 2029.
