Aduana FC defeated Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC 3-1 in the opening match of the 2026 Nsenkyire Cup as both teams continue their preparations for the new season.
The Ogya lads staged a strong second-half comeback to secure the win at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi on Saturday.
Medeama started strongly and took the lead after a dominant opening 20 minutes, with the reigning champions carrying their advantage into the break.
Aduana responded immediately after the restart, with Emmanuel Abban finding the equaliser to bring the game level.
The Dormaa-based side continued to press and were rewarded with two more goals as they took control of the contest.
Abban completed his brace before Shawkan Mohammed added the third to seal a 3-1 victory for Aduana.
The result gives Aduana an early advantage in the four-team pre-season tournament, with the competition continuing through Sunday and Monday.
Aduana will face Etoile Filante de Lome on Sunday, August 23, while Medeama will take on FC Samartex 1996 later that day.
The tournament will conclude on Monday, August 24, when Medeama face Etoile Filante before FC Samartex take on Aduana in the final round of fixtures.
The Nsenkyire Cup features Aduana FC, Medeama SC, FC Samartex 1996 and Togolese side Etoile Filante de Lomé and forms part of the clubs' preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
