Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei has expressed his gratitude to Granada after completing his move to Real Madrid, describing the Spanish club as his “home” since arriving in Spain.
Naasei, 21, posted an emotional farewell message to Granada supporters after his transfer to the Spanish giants was confirmed.
The Ghanaian thanked God and everyone who contributed to his development, while expressing his appreciation to Granada for supporting him from the academy through to the first team.
“I want to thank God and everyone who has helped me get this far. To the Granada fans, I have to tell you that this place has been my home since I arrived in Spain.”
Naasei joined Granada in 2023 from Ghanaian club Emmanuel City and worked his way through the club’s youth system before establishing himself with the senior team.
He also thanked the club for the support he received throughout his development.
“I am grateful for all the support from the club, from the youth academy to the first team. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.”
The defender said he was grateful that his career path had brought him to Granada and vowed to always maintain a strong connection with the club.
“It has made me very happy that our paths crossed and I will always be one of you. Vamos, Granada!”
Naasei leaves Granada after an impressive breakthrough campaign in the 2025/26 season, when he made 37 appearances in LaLiga Hypermotion, starting 34 of those matches.
He also began the new campaign with two appearances for Granada before completing his move to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have signed the Ghanaian on a three-year contract in a deal worth around €2 million, with the defender having already completed his medical.
Naasei will initially join Real Madrid Castilla as he continues his development within the Spanish giants’ system, with the long-term ambition of breaking into the senior team.
The move represents another major step in the career of the Ghana international, who made his Black Stars debut against Mexico in May.
