Ghana U20 head coach Charles Sampson has disclosed that the Black Princesses have overcome the shock they suffered in their 3-0 defeat to Ecuador in their first match at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
The Princesses kicked off their campaign at the tournament on Sunday with high hopes of securing a positive result.
Unfortunately, the team was battered, with players massively affected, according to Charles Sampson.
Ahead of the team’s next match against South Korea, the Ghanaian says his players have now recovered and are fully focused on the assignment ahead.
“Our training was good. Thank God. Now I can confidently say that the girls have come over the last game's shocker and the emotions in it. So now it looks like we are ready to go. We have always been good to go. We work on the last third almost all the time. We just need to give them more confidence in it, and that's why we train on them every day,” Charles Sampson told the GFA Media team.
The Group C clash between Ghana and South Korea will be played on Wednesday, September 9, and is scheduled to kick off at 13:00GMT.
