Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko says his team is ready to withstand the pressure and hostile atmosphere expected from TP Mazembe supporters in the decisive second leg clash of the CAF Champions League.

The Yellow and Mauve head into the return encounter needing to overturn the 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Ghana as they fight to keep their continental campaign alive.

The return fixture has been scheduled for Saturday, September 12, in Lubumbashi, with victory crucial to securing a place in the second phase of the Champions League campaign.

At the pre-match conference, Tanko affirmed the side are ready to cope with pressure when they take on the five-time champions.

“I think there is pressure in football, and I know how our supporters behave. Definitely, the boys are ready. We have watched a lot of their games, and we have seen how their fans react, so we are prepared for that,” Tanko said.

“I don’t think we have to be afraid of the supporters. The ball is on the pitch, and it is eleven against eleven players. This is where my concentration is.”

Having suffered a narrow defeat in the opening leg, Medeama know they must produce a disciplined and determined performance in the return encounter to overturn the deficit and keep their continental hopes alive.
