Ato Ampah scores in Stoke City u-21 victory over Wolverhampton 

English-Ghanaian midfielder Ato Ampah scored as Stoke City Under-21s defeated Wolverhampton Under-21s 4-0 in Premier League 2.

Stoke produced an impressive performance from the opening whistle, controlling the match and securing a convincing victory at home.

Adriel Walker opened the scoring after 15 minutes, giving Stoke an early advantage. The hosts continued to press forward and doubled their lead in the 39th minute, when Ampah found the net to cap an excellent first-half display.

Stoke maintained their intensity after the restart. Tyler Martin scored in the 53rd minute to make it 3-0, leaving Wolves with a difficult task and little opportunity to recover. Martin then completed his brace nine minutes from time, confirming Stoke’s emphatic success.

Ampah started the contest and remained on the pitch until the 66th minute, when Ryan Liu replaced him. His goal nevertheless proved an important contribution to a dominant team performance, while Stoke’s defensive organisation ensured Wolves never found a response.

Stoke City Under-21s will return to action on September 16, facing Borussia Mönchengladbach II Under-23 in the U21 Premier League International Cup. Ampah will hope his latest display strengthens his case for another start.
