Ghanaian winger Bernard Tekpetey delivered an influential performance as Ludogorets defeated FK Septemvri Sofia 2-1 in the Parva Liga at Huvepharma Arena.
The victory kept Ludogorets near the top of the Bulgarian league table after an entertaining Round 9 encounter.
Tekpetey helped the hosts make a fast start, providing the assist for Ivaylo Chochev’s 21st-minute opener. The Ghanaian created the opportunity with a well-timed contribution, allowing Chochev to finish and send Ludogorets into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Ludogorets extended their advantage in the 59th minute when Aguibou Camara found the net. Septemvri Sofia responded through Frantzety Herard, who pulled one goal back in the 81st minute, but the visitors could not complete their comeback.
Tekpetey started the match and was replaced by Filip Kaloc in the 68th minute. His impact before leaving the field helped Ludogorets secure three valuable points, while his Sofascore rating of 8.2 reflected a solid contribution.
The result moved Ludogorets to second place with 23 points, while Septemvri remained ninth on eight points. Ludogorets will next play Arda in the Parva Liga on October 10.
