A delegation of the newly installed Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu on Thursday last week, expressed appreciation on her behalf to the Asantehene, Opemsuo Otumfuo Osei Tutut II, for the honour done her by choosing her to replace the late Asantehemaa
The delegation, comprising members of the Gyase division of the Kumasi Traditional Council presented 24 bottles Schnapps and GH¢20,000 to express their gratitude.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II told the gathering that the stool name of Nana Konadu would be made public after the next observation of Akwasidae.
He stated: “By then we would be done with all the customs as demanded before the name is made known to public”.
According to him, “We are going by the tradition” adding that the Queenmother would be taken to the stool house, and after that a stool name would be given to Nana Konadu.
On behalf of the Chiefs, Baffour Asare Amankwatia VI, Chief of Bantama, expressed gratitude to Otumfuo for getting the people of Ashanti a new queen mother.
The overlord of Ashanti Kingdom, OtumfuoOsei-Tutu II later with majestic steps danced to the tune of Adowa by the ManhyiaTeteNwom group to the admiration of all.
