Kwadaso MCE Urges Residents To Embrace Household Dustbin Project

Mr. Eric Asibey, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, has urged residents in the Municipality to embrace the household dustbin project initiated by the Environmental Department of the Assembly to promote environmental hygiene and sustainability.

He stated that the Assembly was making dustbins available to every household, especially in electoral areas that are ready and willing to acquire them, to ensure that indiscriminate littering becomes a thing of the past. He said the exercise will be supervised by Environmental Health Officers to ensure that the bins are used for their intended purpose.

According to him, the Assembly was making every effort to sustain environmental cleanliness and improve sanitation and hygiene towards better healthcare delivery for the people. He entreated residents to complement the efforts of management, staff and Assembly members to achieve the set goal.

Mr. Asibey made the call after the monthly clean-up exercise organised by his outfit  at Kwadaso Edwenase to clean the principal streets, the market and its surroundings.

He commended the Presiding Member, the Assembly members and stakeholders within the Edwenase electoral area and beyond for their involvement in making the exercise successful.

He urged residents to show commitment and make environmental cleanliness a habit to improve public health delivery in the Municipality. The MCE observed that the government, in its wisdom, recognises the importance of chieftaincy and religious bodies in local governance, which is why they have been merged under one ministry as the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

He appealed to chiefs and all religious leaders to show leadership in environmental cleanliness to motivate their subjects and followers to take the monthly sanitation exercise upon themselves for their general well-being.
