As part of efforts to deepen the business relations between Ghana and Nebraska, three senators from the State of Nebraska in the United States of America, and an international consultant, are visiting the country to participate in the Ghana-Nebraska Stakeholders Business Networking.
The Ghana-Nebraska Stakeholders Business Networking is meant to deepen trade between Ghana the United States of America, in general, and business relations between Ghana and Nebraska, in particular.
The senators, Julie Slama, Andrew La Grone and former senator, Ken Schilz, who is leading the delegation, is expected to arrive in the country on Sunday, November, 13, 2022.
Included in the delegation is Kofi Amoabin, an International Consultant on International Trade Political Affairs.
A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by the Agrihouse Foundation, co-host of the visiting senators, described the visit as one that would create the much desired economic path opening up and deepening opportunities between Ghana and the State of Nebraska, especially for actors in the Livestock and Agro Processing sub-sectors.
“Their visit is aimed at working and developing business relations between Ghana and the State of Nebraska, with a focus on Agriculture, Agro Processing, Energy, Lands and Natural Resources,” the statement, said.
The statement said the programme would help connect businesses in Ghana to businesses in Nebraska, towards creating and establishing a viable and fruitful business relations between the two countries.
The leader of the delegation, Mr Schilz, said the visit would be “mutually beneficial for the two countries, as there would be more to learn about the investment and development opportunities in Ghana, especially through interactions with both the public and the private sectors’ key players, as well as through field trips for first-hand experience.”
He said while in Ghana, the team and Agrihouse Foundation would jointly launch the “Nebraska-Ghana Agri-Value Addition Acceleration and Development Conference (NEGRI-VAD).”
Mr Schilz said NEGRI-VAD, would be an annual event, to help develop business markets among Ghanaian Value Chain Actors and businesses in Nebraska in the United States of America.
“We are all excited about coming to Ghana and are confident that, by the end of our five days visit, it is our expectation we will meet important stakeholders and have a better understanding of the respective sectors and lay the grounds for the beginning of a Ghana-Nebraska sustainable relations,” he said.
