Kingsley Braye delivered a scintillating performance, scoring a sensational hat-trick to fire Medeama SC into the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 with a convincing 3â1 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars at the TnA Stadium on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Tanko’s side started with purpose and were rewarded in the 27th minute when Braye broke the deadlock, finishing confidently to put the Ghana Premier League leaders ahead.
The forward struck again on the stroke of halftime, doubling Medeama’s advantage and giving the home side firm control heading into the break.
Gold Stars responded after the restart, with Gideon Anaba pulling one back in the 52nd minute to briefly revive the visitors’ hopes. However, Medeama remained composed and continued to dictate proceedings, limiting Gold Stars’ opportunities while probing for a decisive third goal.
That moment arrived in the 85th minute when Braye completed his hat-trick in emphatic fashion, sealing a deserved win and underlining his clinical edge in front of goal.
The victory secures Medeama’s place in the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup and keeps their ambitions of a historic league-and-cup double firmly alive this season.
