Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has reaffirmed Benjamin Asare’s status as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, insisting the shot-stopper will always start when fully fit and available.
Speaking after the Phobians’ 1-0 victory over Hohoe United on Saturday, Dramani was emphatic about Asare’s importance to the team, describing him as both the number one goalkeeper and the club’s captain.
"Benjamin Asare is our number one goalkeeper and the captain. Whenever he is fit and ready, he gets the nod to start," Dramani stated.
Asare returned to the starting line-up after spending several weeks on the sidelines through injury, marking his comeback with a solid display as Hearts opened the second round of the Ghana Premier League campaign on a winning note.
The experienced goalkeeper’s return is a major boost for the Phobians as they look to build momentum in the second half of the season, with Dramani clearly backing his leadership and consistency between the posts.
With the second round now underway, Hearts will be hoping Asare can remain injury-free and play a key role in their push for consistency and improved results.
His return could prove decisive as the Phobians aim to build momentum and reassert themselves among the top sides in the Ghana Premier League.
