Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori has secured a mid-season transfer within Portugal's top flight, joining Casa Pia after mutually terminating his contract with fellow Liga Portugal side Moreirense.
The 27-year-old, who had entered the final year of his deal at Moreirense, made the move to seek regular playing time after featuring in just four league matches this season, where he provided one assist.
The lack of consistent opportunities prompted the player and club to agree on a contract termination, allowing him to join Casa Pia as a free agent.
Casa Pia, under head coach Ãlvaro Pacheco, moved swiftly to finalise the deal despite reported interest from other European clubs, including Mallorca. The club is looking to bolster its midfield options as they prepare for the second half of the campaign.
Ofori initially joined Moreirense in July 2023 but struggled to cement a regular starting role during his tenure. He will now be aiming for a fresh start and the chance to rediscover his form with his new club.
