Ghanaian duo of Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who plies their trade for Leicester City will have to start all over again under a new manager following the departure of Martà Cifuentes.
The Spanish tactician leaves the Foxes after just six months in charge following defeat against Oxford United last Saturday. The decision to part ways with the Championship outfit stem from their inconsistent performance in the ongoing campaign.
“This has been a difficult decision and not one I have taken lightly. I would like to thank Martà for the total commitment he has shown during his time at Leicester City. He gave everything to the role and worked tirelessly to help us achieve our targets.
“However, I believe this is the right step at this time to improve performances and results, and to act in the best interests of Leicester City Football Club. Martà leaves with our thanks and our best wishes for the future” said Leicester City Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.
The Black Stars duo will in the meantime work with First Team Coach Andy King until a substantive manager is appointed.
Issahaku enjoyed a remarkable performance under Cifuentes, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances across competitions.
Ayew, on the other hand, has racked up five goals and delivered three assists in 29 appearances across competitons.
