Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has praised the growing quality and competitiveness of the Ghana Premier League, insisting the domestic top flight is steadily improving despite lingering challenges that still need to be addressed.
The former Asante Kotoko boss has overseen a solid campaign with the Phobians, guiding them to fourth place on the league table, eight points behind current leaders Medeama SC.
With 14 matches still to be played in the 2025â26 season, Dramani believes both the title race and the relegation battle remain wide open.
Speaking candidly about the state of the league, Dramani highlighted the increasing intensity and parity among clubs, noting that the era of so-called “easy matches” is fading fast.
“To be honest, I believe our league is improving and it is now difficult to identify easy opponents,” he said. “Yes, there are still areas that need improvement, but overall, our game is at a high standard.”
The ongoing campaign has been defined by fierce rivalries and tight margins, with clubs across the table showing tactical discipline and competitive depth. Dramani’s Hearts of Oak have been part of that intensity, consistently pushed by opponents regardless of league position.
While acknowledging that the league is not without its shortcomings, including infrastructure, officiating consistency and broader administrative issues, the experienced coach maintains that the progress on the pitch is evident and encouraging.
With more than a third of the season still to play, Dramani expects the competition to grow even more intense as clubs chase continental qualification, league honours, or survival.
